Creating a Website is WILD | Starting MoonstoneSky

I’ll tell you what—I have absolutely no clue what I am doing, and it has been a blast (and only a little intimidating)!

Most of the time—and I do mean most of the time—doing things like this are so (well, for lack of a better word) scary?  to me that I just don’t go through with it. I push it off and off until it just doesn’t get done, and sometimes there are serious consequences for doing that!

For example, changing my name on my license after I got married felt like someone asked me to start a nuclear crisis. It took me eight years—eight damn years—to finally update my Social Security card and change my name on my driver's license. Why?

I. Don’t. Know.

I’m not a procrastinator. What I am is an anxiety-filled perfectionist with OCD—and maybe a little ODD sprinkled in there somewhere. Hmm... maybe the (self-diagnosed) defiance disorder has something to do with it…

Anyway, back to the website!

Somehow, completely out of character, I just decided: Eff it, LFG! (LFG: Let’s F***ing Go.) Let’s finally just do this. Nothing in life is so permanent that it should keep you from doing something you love or something you might benefit from. (Well, maybe drugs. But that’s a different level. Or murdering someone—that’s pretty bad too…)

But really, I just wanted to start a website—or a blog—as a place to collect all of my life adventures. Whether it’s traveling, drawing, crafting, gardening, cooking, designing, or doing home remodel projects, I wanted a space to house it all. God knows I don’t have enough storage on my phone to keep the thousands and thousands of photos I hoard, documenting every single step of every single project I do.

So today, August 8, 2025, I created my first blog. I have no clue how often I’ll post, but what I do know is this: this is for me. It’s essentially a journal or scrapbook of my life. I’m not doing this to "influence" anyone or to claim my way is the only or best way to do anything.

It’s just me, living life the best I can—for me.
